Pause for a moment, and write a haiku about what's around you.

Close the blinds against
this hot California sky.
The keyboard's melting.

Thanks, you guys!  :-)

Now I'm getting on this “conversational haiku” thing. It's a great way to procrastinate when a work deadline looms. You take a scrap of dialogue, a line with some kind of vivid image in it, play with it a bit, and make it into a 5-7-5 haiku. Here's one I just came up with:

My beets gotta be
pickled. I like my veggies
sweet and tangy. Yep.

lol,
Mary

Green trees behind me.
Soft reflections through windows.
Office of wisdom.

Breaks between phone calls
bring travels through lofty heights;
whispering with birds.

This is fun for me
Inspired by Mary's call
sharing poetry.

Wheee!
